The temples of Goa have a unique tradition of having five deities other than the main deity in temple premises. These deities are called Panchaytan and each have their own significance and associated rituals.
This Panchaytan Prarthana calls upon Devi Mahalasa and all her Panchaytan - Shanteri, Grampurush, Dadshankar, Lakshminarayan and Kalbhairav to bestow their grace on the devotees.
